Friday, (29th August), was a truly special day for all of us at WightSAR.
We were incredibly proud to receive the King’s Award for Voluntary Service — the equivalent of an MBE for volunteer groups — presented by HM Lord-Lieutenant, Susie Sheldon.
A heartfelt thank you to Lisa for baking our wonderful King’s Award cake, much enjoyed by all.
We really enjoyed showing those who attended our Incident Control Vehicle, specialist kit, and of course, our two trainee search dogs.
It meant so much to see local dignitaries, partner agencies, and the families of our team attend and share our celebration.
Celebrating as a community made the evening one to remember. A big thank you to The Broadway Centre Team and Sandown Town Council for the use of your venue.
We could not have achieved this without the commitment of our team and the ongoing encouragement from everyone around us.
This award is a tribute to all our volunteers, whether out on searches or working diligently behind the scenes, for helping to bring missing loved ones home.
Thank you for your continued support.............
