Life saving equipment donated to WightSAR thanks to IOW Defibrillators.
An extra big WightSAR thank you to Steve at IOW Defibrillators for the donation of an AED for our Incident Control Vehicle and supporting the purchase of another for our search 4 x 4.
This ensures all three of our search vehicles now carry this lifesaving equipment on board at all times for whenever needed.
IOW Defibrillators then ensure the correct registration for public mapping and offer ongoing maintenance support.
Our AED is the 170th defibrillator they have provided across the Island, helping to save lives and hopefully stopping preventable deaths as well as preparing communities for a sudden cardiac emergency.
WightSAR Chairman, Dean Terrett BEM, said “We are extremely grateful to IOW Defibrillators for the donation and the ongoing support they are offering. This is an excellent example of local charities working together to benefit the IOW community as well as learning about what each other does and the difference they make. As a 100% volunteer charity we fundraise for all our equipment and operating costs. Having this donation really helps us alleviate some of the rising cost pressures all charities are facing”.
